Spin & Eat Privacy Policy

Effective August 17, 2026

Spin & Eat works without an account. Taste preferences, household profiles, meal history, ratings, notes, optional meal-photo paths, pantry and grocery items, custom wheels, passport progress and settings are stored locally on the device. The app has no developer-operated cloud sync.

Advertising on Android and iOS

The Android and iOS apps use Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Google’s SDK may collect and share IP address (which may indicate approximate location), app interactions, diagnostic and performance information, advertising data, and device identifiers such as the Android advertising ID, app-set ID, Apple advertising identifier, or other app- or developer-bounded identifiers. Google documents use for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention, with encryption in transit.

Where required, Google’s User Messaging Platform presents consent choices. Ad privacy choices can be reopened in Settings. An unavailable or declined ad never restricts the core meal tools. See Google’s privacy policy.

Product analytics and crash diagnostics

The apps use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand whether onboarding, spins, results and supporting tools work well and to diagnose crashes. Google may process an app-instance identifier, coarse location derived from IP address, device and app information, privacy-filtered product interactions, crash stack traces and diagnostic state. Spin & Eat does not set a Firebase user ID.

Analytics never includes household names, custom-wheel names or free-text choices, grocery or pantry text, meal notes, photos or local paths, or exact dietary, allergy, halal or kosher selections. Counts and durations are reported in ranges, and spins use short-lived flow identifiers. Collection starts automatically where consent is not required; where Google’s regional consent flow is required, it remains disabled until permitted and follows the selected analytics-storage choice.

iOS purchase

On iOS, an optional lifetime unlock is processed by Apple. Spin & Eat receives purchase status but not payment-card details.

Permissions and sharing

Camera access is requested only to scan a shared-wheel QR code. Photo access is requested only when a meal photo is chosen. Notifications are off by default and requested only when enabled. Share, export and external map/search actions send data only to the destination the user chooses.

Retention and deletion

Local data remains until it is edited, deleted, erased with Settings → Reset all data, or the app is uninstalled. Settings → Export all data creates a local CSV controlled by the user. There is no server-side meal profile. Pseudonymous analytics and diagnostics are retained according to Google’s Firebase and Analytics settings and policies.
